Like a house, your foundation can either support you and help you stay strong or bring you to falling apart. How is your foundation to life and health?
What is Your Body’s Foundation?
In your body, your skeleton is the foundation to the body, It helps to protect the most important system in the body, your nervous system. Held within your spinal cord is over 77 trillion nerves, give or take. These nerves are the basis for movement and life. Like in a house, if your foundation is strong, so shall be the house. If your foundation in your body is strong, so shall be your health and body. If you allow your foundation to slip then it will cause excess wear and tear in certain parts and you will develop aches and pains in those areas.
I usually associate your body with the leaning tower of Pisa. If your foundation is weak on one side as with the tower, it can cause you to lean one way or another. Unlike the tower, your body can self correct itself in order to attempt to maintain the integrity. Upon doing this for too long and your body will develop wear and tear unevenly. Fast forward years or decades and you will develop arthritis and lasting changes to your body.
How To Maintain Your Foundation
You may be asking yourself how you can maintain your foundation in your body to prevent this from happening. We see it all the time and it kills me that many things I see can be prevented if they were taken care of. If you have a major accident, go see your chiropractor after you know you didn’t break any bones or need emergency care. Making sure everything is in place on a routine basis will not only add years to your life but life to your years. Why live longer if you can’t enjoy those years right?
Chiropractors are trained in finding these misalignment or subluxations and putting them back into place to increase the efficiency of how the body moves. In our office, we know how to do so without twisting or cracking the back and allowing it to heal itself and becomes more self reliant.
